Shoes hide a lot. A floor that feels fine in footwear might feel surprisingly cold, hard or rough under bare feet. Since you’ll probably walk barefoot or in soft slippers at home, especially in bedrooms and living areas, testing it that way gives you the real story.
If you can, step on an installed sample or a larger mock-up. Stand still for a bit, imagine early winter morning, or a long kitchen session. Does it feel pleasant or tiring? Is there a slight texture that’s comfortable, or is it too slippery to feel safe?
This small test helps avoid that “I didn’t think about this” regret where you realise later that your beautiful floor makes your heels ache or your toes freeze daily.
