Paint chips in isolation can be misleading. That “perfect beige” might look oddly pink next to your grey sofa, or your favourite blue might clash with a wooden bed frame.
By taping sample cards or painting small patches right above or beside your main furniture pieces, you see how the colours interact. You might realise one shade makes your furniture look richer, while another washes it out.
Since you’re not planning to replace everything you own, it makes sense to choose wall colours that support what’s already there.
